Kensington Metropark's Black Locust course is one of the best-known layouts in Michigan: mature woods, elevation, and demanding lines. The park also hosts the legendary Toboggan course for special events.

What to bring

Most of these courses are wooded, so straight-flying control discs matter more than distance drivers. If you're building a bag for Southeast Michigan:

Playing through Michigan seasons

Michigan disc golf doesn't stop in November. Winter leagues run all over Metro Detroit. Bring bright plastic and tape a ribbon to your discs in snow. Spring thaw means mud at River Bends and Addison Oaks (this is where those trail shoes pay off), and summer brings league nights and weekend tournaments across the Metroparks.
